Muay Thai Equipment

So you are interested in building a home gym, or need to buy some Muay Thai Equipment for your sessions at the gym? Look no further, on this page I will list all the essentials you will need.

Punching Bag

You will practice a lot on this one. 99% of all Muay Thai gyms already have this, but it's useful to get one at home. There are many variations of this Muay Thai Equipment, but I would recommend a 4 feet bag, filled with either sand or jeans (depends on how heavy/hard you want it). Most Muay Thai bags will be long and slender. Here is one similar to the one I use:

Pads

A pad is a valuable piece of Muay Thai Equipment for training your kicks and punches. You use this with your training partner, he holds them while you practice your combos and/or kicks. Here is an example:

Gloves

Gloves are possibly the most common of the Muay Thai Equipment, and can be used in other fighting sports as well. Most people use 16 oz. gloves when practicing/sparring, like these:

Century Training Gloves

That is the basic Muay Thai Equipment you will need to get started, but there is a LOT more you can get.

Hope you found this post useful.

Infusion Mixed Martial Arts

I just recently picked up a Wavemaster XXL from Century martial arts which is a great option for those of us who do not have a place for hanging a heavy bag.

The Wavemaster stands about 6’ tall with all but the bottom foot and a half as the base. The really lends itself well to low, mid and high kicks to get a complete workout. Mine is in the basement near our media equipment so I opted to fill the base with sand which gives it plenty of stability so it can take a beating, without having to worry about whether it’s going to leak or not. Good list though!
